A Visit to Sonargaon(Ancient Capital of Bangla)

Hi guys, today Im going to tell you about a school trip. That was happen last year. Our school arranged a study tour to Sonargaon. It is located in Narayanganj, Dhaka (Bangladesh). We gathered our school at 0730 for our trip. All of my classmates went there with me. We went there by bus. The bus was full of students. Some of the students from the back were singing. After a while our journey started.

The journey was very long. It took about 2 hours to reach there. I saw a lot of things. We went over Mahakhali Flyover, the first flyover of Bangladesh. The road was full of cars and rickshaw. We also went over a big bridge. Under the bridge there were small ships, trawlers and boats. We saw big fields, farms, trees, houses, hotels, shops, etc. while going there. Finally we reached there.

We went through a big gate. I saw 2 horses' statues by the lake. We saw an old house called Fort. We went inside the Folk Art and Crafts Museum. There we saw many things. First I saw things made of wood: Wooden Panel, Dressing Table, Garuda,Musical Instruments, Hand loom, Palanquin , etc. Then I saw things made of metal and iron:Sacrificial Knives,Hunting Instruments, etc. I also saw pictures of Radha & Krishna, Different Tribes, Ganesha, etc. I saw many, many things there.

There was also another museum. Joynul Abedin Museum, Inside Joynul Abedin Museum we saw mannequin of a Mother holding her child, Nakshi Kantha, Pictures, Jamdani Shari , Jewelery Box, etc.

And so after that we were very tired,so we rested for a while and then we had our lunch. The lunch was delicious. Then I saw some of my friends playing games and so I joined them too. Later our teachers told us about the histories about Sonargaon
and things around there.

Then the sky becomes dark and so the teachers call us to the buses. After that we saw the same things on the way back to home. But it took a 2 & half hour to reach home because of traffic jam. And finally we reached home at 9:30 pm.
